Are the people of Gilgit Baltistan really against CPEC?

Few months ago I was watching an Indian news channel .

The Headline was like

the people of Gilgit Baltistan are protesting against Pakistani occupation and CPEC.

They also played a video documentary.

What they didn’t played was the voice of the person who was speaking .

Now lets talk about reality.

Actually it was a rally held by Pakistan People Party (PPPP) which is the main opposition party in the Pakistan’s National Assembly .

It was held in Skardu ( divisional capital of Baltistan )

The speaker was Amjad Hussain Advocate , president (PPPP GB )

He was condemning the Government acts for not paying the people full dues of their land which was to be incorporated in CPEC.

In short

We want to get full benefit out of this CPEC and for this purpose we are pressuring our provincial government to do more .

People of Gilgit Baltistan see CPEC as a ray of hope for their economical prosperity and constitutional rights .

We have some reservations regarding some of the decisions made by our provincial and federal government regarding CPEC , but overall very are very happy to be part of it.

The most recent issue that was raised by people of GB was of taxation.

Which the foreign media connected with CPEC. Though it had to do nothing with CPEC.
